About Conor

Conor Keane from Ennis, Co. Clare is a professional musician and creator of new Irish music. A talented button accordionist, he also plays many other instruments including the piano and violin.

Conor’s original music reflects his influences from his many years working with a  number of musical genres, mostly of Irish and continental origin. His latest recording, “Around Doonmore”(2018) is a dynamic collection of his newly-composed original Irish music.

Conor performs concerts and arranges workshops on regular basis. He has recorded numerous albums of traditional music including Cooley’s House ( 1992 ), Oidhreacht (1997 ) and  Rough and Ready (2015). He is a past member of many professional bands including Arcady with Frances Black, Seán Keane, Four Men and a Dog, The Tulla Céilí Band and Shaskeen.

Conor travels extensively and has lived in France for a number of years where he worked as an accordionist with legendary Breton singer Gilles Servat. During this period he performed in many prestigious venues all over France, including The Olympia and the Bércy in Paris. 

Since then he has made countless international tours all over Europe, America, Canada and Australia. He has played in most of the major folk festivals worldwide. He has successfully completed a number of commissions including The Connemara Suite in 2014. ​​
